ocean, reef, inlet & beach

The flathead, bream, whiting and jewfish catches from the Wagonga Inlet and the kingfish, yellow fin, albacore and marlin hauls from around Montague Island attract fishermen in their tinnies and their cruisers from all over the country.

Add to that the rock and beach fishing for tailor, salmon, blackfish and drummer and the reef catches of snapper and morwong and you can understand why Rex Hunt has a house here!

Batemans Marine Park

The introduction of the Batemans Marine Park, which has banned all trawling in the region, means estuary and ocean fish will only get bigger and more plentiful.
